Isaac's grave
Dave and I were married on 11.1.00. We had our honeymoon in March. We went to Rome to have our marriage blessed by the holy father Pope John Paul II (he personally blessed us). We also went to Ireland for St. Pattys day (FUN).
Using NFP we were ttc as soon as we came home. We were elated to find out I was pregnant. Both Dave and I couldnt have been happier! We told the world :)
Because I was older they did an ultrasound and the baby was fine. I began spotting lightly so I had another and the baby was still perfect and growing well :) A month later still some spotting and cramping so I had a third u/s. He was still growing perfectly, its amazing how fast they grow in the early months! At three and a half months I had a 4th u/s... this would be the worst day of my life. I knew from the previous u/s that this one was not good. The baby wasnt moving and looked different. She did a scan of his heart and it was flat. My baby had died :( We were told to wait in the waiting area until the dr called. Ill never forget the feelings I had. The sadness and complete ache in my heart that I had a dead baby in my womb. After a week my baby still hadnt miscarried. I had to have a D&C. My body had begun to absorb baby Isaac so the procedure would end up causing great problems with my next pregnancy (my peanut Benjamin is a miracle baby btw but thats another story).
We found out that the baby was a boy so we named him Isaac Skyler Jacob. It was Friday, July 13th 2001 when he was taken from me. Though he didnt live long he was my baby and I love him with all my being. Two days after the D&C I had to pick him up at the funeral home. That was a really hard drive home Ill tell you! They put him in a tiny ceramic dish and sealed it shut. It looked almost like a jewelry case. His name and date were written on it so it was very nice. I had to prepare a box for him so it wouldnt collaps when he was buried. He was buried with one of the several roseries I had blessed while in Rome. Father Bill came and attended the burial. It was really strange. This process was all so hard but it helped me so much in the long run. I came out to the cemetary almost daily for a long time. I planted flowers, picked weeds, talked to all the other dead people, sprinkled holy water on the creepy old chapel that was condemed etc... this all helped with the healing. Jacob came with me a lot of the time which was nice. Dave came on his own time.
God does funny things that we dont understand. All I will say for now is that the death of my baby and the complications I had with Benjamin brought my husband to God. He became Catholic, received his Sacraments and was baptised with his son Benjamin :)
Please dont feel sorry for us... Baby Isaac's death saved my husbands life :)

David Mitchells Birth
David Mitchell was gently born at home on August 21st at 10:54 am. He weighs 8 lbs and is 20" long.
Heres the short version, Ill write the long version soon :)
David Mitchell Jacob (David is my husbands name & Mitchell is my brothers name) at 10:54 am today. Contractions started at about 2:30am, I KNEW it was it this time!! I showered and went back to bed at 4am and by 7:30am they were closer and stronger which is when I called the midwife. She arrived at about 8:45. I labored in the birthing pool for awhile but when I pushed a few times (and just delivered a bulging bag of waters which had to be broke) it left tons of floaties... That made me feel queezy then. I got out and sat on the birthing stool. I pushed for about 30 minutes but that included the pushing of the bag, when that broke I didnt push for awhile again so really just a couple of times. When it came down to it I pushed twice for like a 30 seconds and he came out.. YOUCH, I tried to put him back in when his head came because it wasnt all in or out and I didnt want it where it was, the midwife said no, push him out lol. Ok so I did and he just slithered on out. He weighs 8 lbs and is 20" long. Hes nursing so well and perfect! Its just amazing to be home, in my nice comfy pajamas with my nice comfy pillow on my nice comfy couch/bed/rocking chair :) I wouldnt change a thing and would definatly do another home birth in a heart beat. Even Dave agreed it was wonderful. He was so supportive and enjoyed it. Oh, Jacob cut the cord too :) I also used HypnoBabies so nobody thought I was as far along or close as I was because the only way anyone knew I was having a contraction is if they talked to me and I held my finger up to wait or shushed them... when the midwife came they were shocked to see I was already dialated to 9 ;) Cool aye?

Christopher was born January 28th, 2007 at 2:05 am weighing 7 lbs, 7 oz, 21" long. He nurses wonderfully!
